During Christmas (i.e. November – December) I deem it acceptable to eat as much chocolate as I like. As my Dairy Milk advent calendar comes to a finish, it is time to get onto the good stuff.  Here are my top 5 Fancy Chocolate Bars. I am a sucker for packaging – so these 5 not only taste delightful, but look damn chic. Great as a last minute gift for chocoholic friends or those relatives you see once a year and can barely remember their names!

Disclaimer: they are all scandalously expensive, but as it’s Christmas, it’s OK to be a tad decadent..

Spice Up Your Life
Coco Chocolatier, Christmas Spice Milk Chocolate, £4.95 (cocochocolate.co.uk)

This bar is SO GOOD. Beautifully wrapped and fantastically festive. Cinnamon, cardamon, nutmeg, & cloves – the spices of Christmas work so well with the superbly sweet milk chocolate. Its also GLUTEN-FREE! Definitely my favourite out of the five.

Milk Maids
Le Chocolat des Francais, Sweet Milk Chocolate, £7.00 (conranshop.co.uk)

Milky, melting & moreish. Made traditionally just outside Paris, this artisan 42% milk chocolate bar hits all the right notes. The wrapping is colourful, cool and Christmasy!

Shit Just GOAT Serious
Mast, Goat Milk Chocolate, £6.50 (mastbrothers.co.uk)

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

Goats milk chocolate is an acquired taste – you will love it, or find it absolutely disgusting. As a lover of all things cheesy, I find this almost savoury chocolate, unusual, delicious and unlike anything I have ever tasted. If you are an adventurous eater, give this bar a go.

Ginger Beards
Rococo Chocolates, Ginger Bread Spice, £5.5o (rococochocolates.com)

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

I absolutely love Gingerbread men – I have genuinely eaten over 10 this December (big ones, not small ones). Therefore, this is a brilliant bar for me! Delicately flavoured with ginger, the texture of the chocolate remains smooth & silky.

Pop that Booty
The Chocolate Society, Dark Chocolate Christmas Cracker Bar, £4.50 (chocolate.co.uk)

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

This is no ordinary dark chocolate. Studded with crunchy biscuit pearls and popping candy! Honestly, if you don’t like dark chocolate, you might like this.
