There is not really that much to say…you’ll either love it or hate it? This is an all-time classic. If you hate marmite, I don’t understand you, but I forgive you. Not quite sure whether this ‘recipe’ legitimately requires a post… but hey ho, egg & soldiers and so yummy it’s allowed!

6 eggs
4 slices wholemeal bread
a knob of butter


1.Bring a pan of water to a simmer. Add 6 eggs, simmer for 2 mins if room temp, 3 mins if fridge-cold, then turn off heat. Cover the pan and leave for 3 mins more.

2. Meanwhile, toast 4 slices wholemeal bread and spread with butter, then Marmite. To serve, cut into soldiers and dip into the egg.
